Counting your blessings

One week ago was a terrible day, but I could still see God's hands in my life.

For the last four weeks, I have been working on my bike, going to every client to clean their houses. Not having a bike makes it difficult to go to work.

Forgetting my keys

This way is how my day started. I went downstairs to pick up my bike for work, but the tire was flat. So, I can't attend my first client, because I start at 9. Then I had another client at 13 o'clock. But I needed to send my bike for reparation otherwise I can't go to work for the rest of the week. The reparation place opened at 10 o'clock. At 10.15, I left my house to bring my bike for reparation. When I returned, I realized I had forgotten my keys inside. So I called my friend and told him I had forgotten my keys inside and needed to call my landlord to see if they could open it. Long story short, we called my landlord, and they told me they couldn't open the door for privacy matters. With that being said, we reached out to a key maker to come and open the door for me. Between leaving my keys inside and opening the door, I was outside in that cold for 1 hour crying and telling myself everything would be alright.

My friend came

When we were on the phone with the landlord, my phone died, and my friend told me that I could use his phone. Thank God He came! When my phone died, I went to sit on a bench waiting for Him, wondering if He would come. Fifteen minutes later He came, with His phone we called the keymaker. While waiting for the keymaker, He asked me; do you think we can open this door by faith"? Open the door by faith? I'm not sure. Is your faith that big that you can open that door? In our doubt, He asked me to pray. After praying, we were still wondering if we could open the door by faith or if I could go true the window. Then we went downstairs to wait for the keymaker.

The payment

When we asked the keymaker for the price, He told us it would cost €95,00. He came; he opened the door. When we gave Him €100,00 we weren't expecting Him to give us money back. But He gave me €15,00 back. So, we got a €10,00 discount. Maybe our faith wasn't that great to open the door, but still, the Lord blessed us with a €10,00 discount.

Lessons:

- It's always good to see for a second time if you got your keys before closing the door.

- It's always good to have someone that you can count on

- It's also a good idea that someone else has your house keys if you forget yours inside.

- No matter how bad things look, try to see the positive part. It could have been worse.

- In every situation, God is with you; keep rejoicing even in those bad moments.
