Participating in a composition contest!

Should I participate? At the last minute, I was convinced that I needed to participate! I'm not the best singer, have no degree in composition, and I'm also not a gifted musician, but I know the Lord has called me to sing. I might not do it often, but any chance I get, I will take it.

In July, at church, there was an announcement for a composition contest organized by the Netherlands Union of Churches. You could send in your composition before the 31 of August. It needed to be an English or Dutch song, so I started thinking about which song to choose or if I should compose a new one. The song 'The Fountain' came to mind. I wrote that song in 2020 (I am trying to remember when). On Thursday, the 29 of August, I recorded the song. It could have been better, but it was way better than in the past, but I didn't send it right away. I needed to convert, cut, or record a new one. In the end, I didn't record a new one.

On Thursday, I was still reading John 4:4-7, but I got another revelation that day. What got my attention was where the well of Jacob was 'Synchar,' so I Google it because I thought it had some meaning. In my search, I got that the well of Jacob, where Jesus came to get water from the Samaritan woman, was also known as the Jacob fountain, so I knew I needed to send my song, 'The Fountain,' in. It was the 31 of August, the last day to send in your composition. I convert it, cut it, and send it in. In my song, Jesus is the fountain of joy and love. Soon, I will be putting more about this contest, and I will also upload the music on YouTube. with this song and any of my songs, I want to reach people and tell them about Jesus.

Be blessed, and stay tuned!
