Results or excuses?

We all have struggles. In life, some of us reach a place of indecision. We don't know anymore what we want or what path to take. Sometimes, it overwhelms us so much that we lose the whole picture. The picture of dreams that one's you has or things that you wanted to do. Time goes by; you had planes from which many of them failed. What know? How do I get my way back on the right track? Those are the questions that I have.

After realizing this, what do I do? How do I start again? Important is the realization. The second most important is how to tackle the problem. It may take a while, but keep going. It's hard to tell someone else what to do when you are still lost in finding your way. But, I understood that one of the reasons that I wasn't moving was because of my excuses.

Yes, my justifications were holding me back.

Excuse: seek to lessen the blame attached to (a fault or offense); try to justify

Justification

What does it do? You will find 10,000 reasons not to do what you want, or why you haven't done it yet. It makes you belittle yourself, thinking you are always missing something before starting. It makes you procrastinate; so many years pass by from which could have been used. You realize, many years later, that you are too old to start now compared to how far you could have been if you had started many years ago. Still, you have not start yet! That is the danger, never doing things you wanted to do in the past or future and keep mortifying yourself.

Example

After finishing my study, I was still deciding whether to go to work. That is ok; many students need a break, but not all of them know how to integrate again. So, I decided to take a break for one year. I always had a reason for not finding a job after that. Sometimes, you think you are the only one struggling with that when there are many people in that same situation. What makes the difference is that some did what was needed to do even when it was hard when the others (including me) had many excuses why not to do it. As a result, after two years, I still ,need to find something and now it is even harder. If I learned from the past, I would do things differently. Am I there? No! I'm not! But I started with self-reflecting and reading a book (listed below) that can help me reorganize why I'm not successful in what I'm doing. I realized I needed to change some bad habits.

Break the cycle

Self-discipline is the way of breaking the cycle. Breaking it is always challenging. It is easier to be unproductive than to be productive.

I'm looking forward to that!

Moral of the story

When you don't have anything better to do with your time, you are always wasting time! Ultimately, you will always wonder why you haven't accomplished anything yet.
